No. Remote tuning is available for most platforms and delivers the same calibration quality as in-shop. In-shop is available if you're local and want hands-on service, dyno pulls, or hardware installation.
ECU tuning recalibrates your engine — boost targets, fuel maps, ignition timing, throttle response, and rev limits. That's where the horsepower comes from. TCU tuning recalibrates your transmission — shift speed, shift firmness, torque converter lockup, and launch control. That's where the driving feel changes. Most customers do both.
Depends on your platform and stage. Typical Stage 1 gains (pump gas, no hardware): BMW S58 (M3/M4) +70-80 HP. Mercedes M177 (C63/E63) +80-100 HP. Porsche 9A2 Turbo (911 Turbo S) +80-110 HP. Stage 2 with supporting mods goes further. Send us your car and mod list for a realistic number.
Stage 1 tunes are built for 91 or 93 octane pump gas depending on your area. Higher-stage tunes may call for 93 octane or E30/E50 ethanol blends depending on platform and power targets. We specify fuel requirements before you commit.
